The instinct is to ring before work, because that is when you think of it. From Auckland that lands somewhere around midnight in Colombo, and an elderly parent woken at midnight will tell you everything is fine simply to end the call.

One thing worth saying to families outside the main centres. Being the only Sri Lankan household in your street can make arranging care in Colombo feel like a problem nobody around you would understand, and that isolation puts people off asking. It is far more common than it feels, and you do not need a referral or an introduction to book an assessment.

How much does home care in Sri Lanka cost?
A one-time annual membership covers coordination, payroll and unlimited carer replacements. Daily rates then apply by staff role, from carer through to registered nurse. Rates appear below, and the free assessment always comes first.
Can somebody else in my family get the updates?
Yes, and we encourage it. Naming a second recipient means the household is not dependent on one person reading their phone, which matters more when everyone involved is asleep for half the Sri Lankan day.
What if we need to stop or pause the care?
You can. There is no lock-in period on the daily rate and no notice dressed up as a contract. The membership is a registration fee, and hours can be reduced or paused without losing your place.

We coordinate from Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, on the edge of Colombo, and place carers anywhere on the island. Kandy, Galle, Negombo, Matara and Jaffna are routine rather than exceptional.
